About me - English
I'm Jiyeon, a native Korean speaker living in Korea. I love languages and truly enjoy teaching Korean while connecting with my students. I especially like sharing Korean society, culture, history, and nature with them, along with real-life experiences as a native. These conversations make learning more enjoyable and help students understand Korea on a deeper level.
Qualifications & Experience
I majored in Korean proofreading and editing at college, and I have about 4 years of experience teaching Korean online as a personal tutor to students of all levels. During this time, I have taught students from many different countries, ages, and backgrounds. This has helped me learn how to adjust my lessons to fit each student's needs.
Teaching Approach
I'm here to help you not only understand Korean but also use it confidently in real-life situations. My lessons are designed to perfectly fit your level and interests. You'll also get to learn about Korean culture, society, history, and daily life from a native's perspective.
People often get so caught up in the methodology of learning a new language, but it's not about what method you use. It's about how much you practice. Listening, reading, writing, speaking a lot are the keys. I'll guide you, and after each lesson, I'll provide simple review notes I've made so you can practice what you've learned.
I use Zoom, Teams or Skype and am in the Korea Standard Time (KST) zone. Being on time and keeping our scheduled dates is very important.
