I am a highly-qualified native Spanish teacher from Madrid (PhD in Applied Linguistics). I started teaching Spanish in 2009 when I finished my MA in Teaching Spanish as an L2 and since then I worked in a wide range of educational institutions: four British universities, two secondary schools in London and currently, at a Spanish university. My greatest strength is having developed a deep understanding of applied linguistics and teaching methods to facilitate the learning process of Spanish as a Foreign Language, and I have a talent for creating original teaching materials. I am passionate about collaborating with others to learn about integrating new technologies in teaching. And most importantly, I value learning and being collaborative, inclusive and creative, while I do my job.

I plan, prepare and deliver high quality teaching tailored to your needs. I follow the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), which focuses on:

1. COMMUNICATION. To help you communicate effectively in Spanish, I use authentic materials such as current news, videos and websites to expose you to real language use.

2. FUNCTIONAL LANGUAGE USE. I design my lessons around functions of language (e.g., requesting information, expressing opinions, giving advice, apologizing, etc.) rather than focusing solely on grammar rules.

3. STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING. In my lessons, you are an active participant while I act as a facilitator rather than a lecturer.

4. INTERACTION AND COLLABORATION. I use activities such as role-plays, interviews or discussions to promote interaction and a collaborative learning.

5. INTEGRATION OF THE 4 SKILLS: I incorporate activities that involve listening and reading comprehension as well as speaking and writing production, reflecting how language is used in real-life scenarios.

Soy una profesora nativa de español. Empecé a dar clases de español en 2009 cuando terminé el máster de español como L2 y desde entonces he dado clase en diversas instituciones educativas: en cuatro universidades británicas, dos colegios británicos y en la actualidad, en una universidad española. Destacaría entre mis cualidades, mi formación académica en Lingüística Aplicada y en métodos de enseñanza que facilitan el proceso de aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera.
